Quebec’s Chief Scientist supports the dissemination of scientific content from the Global-Watch platform during the COVID-19 pandemic

Montreal, May 5, 2020 - Supported by Quebec’s Chief Scientist in collaboration with the Fonds de recherche du Québec, Global-Watch is providing employers and workers with free access to popularized scientific content on different workplace health and well-being themes during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some of this scientific content is presented in the form of video clips featuring academic experts from different fields and educational institutions.

Other content is conveyed in laymen’s terms in the form of short “Scientific Newsflashes” prepared by volunteer PhD students under the guidance of Professor France St-Hilaire of the Université de Sherbrooke.

Rémi Quirion affirms that “as Chief Scientist of Quebec, I am proud to support this initiative which highlights the work of researchers, experts, specialists and students, who have joined forces and collaborated in an innovative and unique way during this historic pandemic to provide employers with research-based information on workplace well-being.”

Marie-Claude Pelletier, President and Founder of Global-Watch, states that “the free dissemination of this scientific content allows employers and workers to benefit from rigorous, impartial information based on sound knowledge. Every content item is accompanied by practical courses of action that the employer or worker can immediately implement.”

Emmanuelle Gaudette, Senior Health & Well-Being Program Manager at Pratt & Whitney, shared that “in this exceptional time, our reference points have shifted; we need to guide our teams at every level of the organization by giving them advice, measures and tools based on trusted resources and inspired by science. With Global-Watch, we have been quickly able to rely on rigorous, useful and relevant content.”
